Casablanca, the other Casablanca, is Chile's fastest-growing wine region and the excitement is warranted. Situated between the coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean, this fertile valley shares the same climate and topography as it's mirror image in the northern hemisphere- Sonoma and Napa Valley. And so be it that the region is growing enticingly fresh Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. The Refugio Pinot Noir is from a small 6-acre plot, biodynamically-farmed, hand-harvested and naturally-fermented in a combination of steel tanks and concrete eggs. The wine is deeply berry-full and exceptionally refreshing.
